2/22/14 Laura Deeter

The Design Network welcomes Dr. Laura Deeter. Dr. Deeter will present two lectures on Saturday, February 22, 2014.

Dr. Deeter, Associate Professor of Horticulture at Ohio State University ATI, is known as ‘The Garden Hoe’. Armed with a sense of horticultural humor, she helps many to look at their gardening challenges using humor and an ‘outside the box’ perspective.

As many of us in the area are faced with the challenge of gardening in shady locations, Dr. Deeter will present a lecture on ‘Shady Characters’ where we will learn to deal with shade, which plants will ‘hack it’ in different shaded situations, as well as plants that will add pizzazz and pop to those otherwise dark and dismal areas of the landscape.

Dr. Deeter’s second lecture, ‘Hortus Mustus’-Plants for Plant Geeks- is not to be missed!  , you’ll leave the presentation armed with valuable and inspirational information on plants that you can implement in your landscape that will actually work!

Both lectures will take place on February 22, 2014 in the great hall at St. Martin’s Church, located at 6295 Chagrin River Road, in Bentleyville.
